Broadway’s Motown The Musical kicked off its one-week run Tuesday at the Arsht Center where celebrity attendees included The Tenors, the Canadian multi-platinum, JUNO Award-winning vocal group. The trio’s members — Clifton Murray, Fraser Walters and Remigio Pereira — enjoyed the show with friends and hung out with the cast at the show’s after party at the Ziff Ballet Opera House Patrons Salon. The Tenors, nominated for a Canadian Juno Award on Tuesday for their album Under One Sky, were in Miami for a show Wednesday night at the Arsht.
Ex-NFL player and UM great D.J. Williams helped put smiles on children’s faces Tuesday as he attended Prestige Imports’ Ride2Revive racetrack event at Hallandale Beach’s Mardi Gras Casino benefiting terminally ill children from Israel. Williams joined Prestige Imports owner Brett David and volunteers as a “racetrack” driver, taking the children on exhilarating laps around the race course. The children were on their final day of a 10-day wish trip from Israel via the philanthropic organization Simcha Yeladim.
