Russell Simmons helps out for Give Miami Day


Russell Simmons joins Miami’s “The Next Food Network” star alum Ana Quincoces, retired sports stars Sage Rosenfels (Miami Dolphins), Etan Thomas (Washington Wizards) and Mark DeRosa (Chicago Cubs) as “Celebrity Friends” for the Miami-based charity Gene Spotlight Inc. on Nov. 17 for Give Miami Day. On that day, any funds donated to participating charities via GiveMiamiDay.org will receive a bonus pool (partial match) by the Miami Foundation. Jermaine Dupri is serving as DJ for the official after party of the 22nd Annual InterContinental Miami Make-A-Wish Ball, headlined by John Legend and Alisan Porter (see display). The after party, a.k.a. the Make-A-Wish Nightclub, taking place at 11 p.m. Saturday at E11even Miami, is open to the public with $23 tickets for the fairer sex and $46 for men.
