Former University of Miami football star Jonathan Vilma, who officially retired from the NFL in December after 11 years with the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints, wants out of The Jade.
His $940,000 purchase of a 27th-floor two-bedroom condo at the marquee downtown Miami building was his first major purchase after he was drafted in the first round and signed by the Jets in 2005.
Now, the 34-year-old former linebacker wants to sell the Brickell Bay Drive crib. It's on the market for $1.3 million, according to real estate listings.
So, what will the buyer get for that kind of cash?
Unobstructed views on Biscayne Bay and Key Biscayne from the dining table, porcelain floors and automated shades throughout the 1,700 square feet unit, and the sun rising on the balcony.
In addition to his leading the Saints in tackles for two seasons, Vilma was also a central figure in the Saints’ bounty scandal, in which the team paid players like him an incentive program to knock opposing quarterbacks out of games.
