If you were out and about in Miami Beach over the weekend, there’s a good chance you had a Diego Boneta sighting. The Mexican actor, best known for his role as Javier on The CW’s 90210, attended various Irie Weekend events, and, may we say, really lived it up.

You the man @irie it's been a blast to celebrate you and your foundation this weekend!!#irieweekend

Seems Boneta wasn’t just doing good by lending his star power to the Miami Heat DJ’s annual charity extravaganza, but was also indulging in some down time. He was spotted hanging out at Bagatelle restaurant and catching the C’est Rouge! cabaret show at Faena Theatre.

The actor loved spending time in South Beach, where he lived for a six months while shooting 2012 big screen musical Rock of Ages, which he calls his “lucky break.”

“Summer 2011 was the best summer of my life because I was making that movie,” said Boneta. “That’s still got to be my favorite project. It was an insane cast — Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Catherine Zeta Jones, Russell Brand. I learned so much. Everyone was different and brilliant in their own way.”

Especially Cruise, whose career Boneta has long admired. His dream role would actually be to star in a reboot of Top Gun, playing cocky fighter pilot Maverick, Cruise’s role in the 1985 classic.

“That would be my ultimate. I love Tom Cruise movies,” gushed the 25-year-old. “Especially the ones he did at my age. He worked with amazing filmmakers and played the underdog in a great way and he was kind of like the guy’s guy, too.”

Next up for the hunk: upcoming sci-fi thriller, Titan, alongside Sam Worthington, Taylor Schilling and Tom Wilkinson. “It was shot it in the Canary Islands,” explained Boneta. I play a Spanish doctor and I got to mess around with some proshetics, which was pretty cool.”

And as for why Boneta’s body looked so banging while photographed by paps strolling around Miami Beach in bright orange trunks? Think: Lots of workouts. The L.A. resident also posted some snaps to social media.

“I do either do boxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu or just hit the gym for a lot of calisthenics. I usually try to fit something in every day.”

More trivia: He tries to watch at least one movie a day.

Also hanging out the actor during Irie’s big festivities: Peter Miller, a professional angler, producer, spokesperson, and philanthropist, most widely known for his Telly award winning television show, Bass 2 Billfish with Peter Miller, which appears weekly on NBC Sports and the World Fishing Network.
