It has been a whirlwind of baby bump rumors and women’s topics for actress Gabrielle Union.

At last week’s Ocean Drive magazine event, held at Nautilus, a Sixty hotel on Collins Avenue, the actress took a moment to clarify that her Instagram video, in which she is wearing a blue and white Prada dress and while holding hands with hubby Dwyane Wade, shows a bump caused by bloating — not a baby.

“I saw it when I posted my slo-mo video, and in my mind I thought, ‘I know I’m bloated, but maybe no one else notices,’ and then I thought maybe people would be like, ‘Oh, she’s bloated,’ and then it was like, ‘Congratulations, she’s well under her second trimester,’ said Union, who laughed it off with a series of tweets and a cocktail.

She may not be pregnant, but the actress’ skin glows. She credited Skin by Tatum in Sunset Harbor, where she and Wade go for the ultimate skin treatments.

The Birth of a Nation actress also touched on topics she discusses in the newest issue of Ocean Drive Magazine, including women’s rights, being African American and being raped as a teenager while at her job.

“I think there’s a lot of issues that are happening in Miami, intragroup issues that are happening amongst Latinas, amongst African Americans, amongst women of the African Diaspora, that don’t get addressed — especially colorism,” she said. “It’s important to be honest and keep the conversation going, especially in Miami where they’re all like, ‘Well, they’re all just hot,’ so there are other issues that we should address so we can feel like we all have a seat in this town.”

With the barrage of celebrity ‘baby bump’ photos that have exploded on the internet, many new moms worry about their pregnancy shape and wonder if their bump is too big or too small.
