Miami Fashion Week went out with a stylish splash Sunday night at Ice Palace Film Studios, when Miami’s own Rene Ruiz presented pieces from his fall 2016 collection and holiday collection.

Seen at the show was MIAFW Honorary President Antonio Banderas who posed with Ruiz after the show. The designer thanked the Desperado star on social media, “What an amazing night @miamifashionweek with the incredibly generous and talented @antoniobanderasoficial thank you Miami for coming out. Great to be part of the future of our great city.”

As for Banderas, the actor turned designer really showed his support and was photographed front and center at the shows, with girlfriend, Dutch investment banker Nicole Kempel, by his side. He was seen jogging in Brickell Key on Sunday and later hanging out with his “good friend” Emilio Estefan at the Mandarin.

At the Sunday afterparty to officially close out MIAFW at the New World Center in Miami Beach, actor-singer Jencarlos Canela performed despite being under the weather.

Before going on stage, the Telenovela star wrote on Instagram: “Bout to go out to close #MiamiFashionWeek. I LOVE MY CITY. I’m sick, but one of the best remedies is music.”

Definitely. Canelas energetically performed five songs including his single Bajito, dancing and moving the well-dressed crowd to their feet.

Banderas didn’t just attend runway shows, he showed some stuff himself. On Saturday night, Banderas displayed a few outfits from his just-launched menswear line (with Danish brand Selected Homme) on mannequins set up inside Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. There was a smart zippered leather jacket with strategically ripped jeans, casual polo and button down shirts. Banderas played model, too — his image was seen on various posters hung throughout the elegant, verdant space, where such international designers as Ángel Sánchez, Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada and Custo Dalmau (Custo Barcelona, whose show was attended by Prince Royce) milled about sipping champagne and shaking hands.
