1 Hotel & Homes South Beach had quite the week with an invasion of supermodels — and unlimited amounts of hairspray — culminating in the red carpet event of the season, the Sports Illustrated Swim launch party, on the main pool deck Wednesday night.
Rapper Wiz Khalifa inaugurated the evening on a high note — in a cloud of smoke posing for photographers, joint in hand. He didn’t talk bathing suits but his new album Khalifa, on iTunes. The singer — and marijuana enthusiast — is particularly proud of one track, Zoney, featuring a cameo by his 2-year-old son Sebastian (with ex, model Amber Rose).
“He’s, like, a superstar,” said the Call Waiting crooner of the toddler. “His personality, his imagination — it’s just so broad. We’re letting everyone get a little taste of him, and the fans are reacting well.”
Hungarian model Barbara Palvin was one of the first models to arrived, hair in braids. Her blue eyes were shining and bright, despite the fact that she said she was “super tired” from arriving late the night before and working the next day at Lummus Park for the Swim Beach fan fest.

“This is definitely work, but as long as it’s fun, it’s fine,” Palvin said.
Nina Agdal, in a black leather minidress, also admitted that modeling wasn’t just all about lying around half naked on the beach.
“I mean, we have to watch what we eat, make sure our bodies look good, wake up early, that kind of thing,” Agdal said. “But this week we’re celebrating.”
What’s the Dane’s biggest indulgence after dieting for a shoot?
“I love a good burger,” Agdal answered. “I love Shake Shack. I get a double with cheese, some mayo, ketchup and pickles, with a nice, cold beer. That’s what I want.”
Luckily, some of STK Miami’s Lil BRGRs were on hand for the famished ladies.
Sports Illustrated readers will get their money’s worth checking out Hannah Davis’ photos in the annual issue. Derek Jeter’s fiancée took the plunge underwater off the coast of Tahiti for a few gorgeous pictures.
“I guess since I grew up in the Virgin Islands they figured I would love the water, but I was nervous about sharks,” admitted the Project Runway Junior host, who was born in St. Thomas. “But once I jumped off the boat and got in there, it was all good. The makeup was off!”
A pregnant Chrissy Teigen stole the show, arriving with husband John Legend in a picture-perfect black dress with chic full body slits along both sides and a matching black suit. She gamely posed and blew kisses for the cameras.
Gigi Hadid, however, eager to get into the party, dismissed interviews while hand in hand with best friend Lily Aldridge, and headed inside.
Among the nonmodel celebs spotted in the crowd: Actor Ryan Philippe, director Michael Bay, Marlins pitcher A.J. Ramos and CSI: Miami vet Omar Benson Miller.
