The professional golfer and Jupiter Island resident is expected to open “The Woods Jupiter: Sports and Dining Club” in Harbourside Place around February, said Nicholas Mastroianni II, president and CEO of Allied Capital & Development of South Florida.
“He wanted a place he could use himself, for his friends and the community,” Mastroianni said Tuesday. “It will dramatically change north county for the better. It'll certainly be an attraction.”
Allied Capital is developing Harbourside Place, an entertainment and retail complex on 10 acres of waterfront property on the northwest corner of Indiantown Road and U.S. 1. Parts of the development, which includes the Wyndham Grand Jupiter hotel, an amphitheater and marina, are expected to open in mid-October.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have Tiger’s new establishment operating within Harbourside Place,” Mastroianni said in a news release announcing the future Harbourside tenant. “As many know, this project is nearly a decade in the making, and it’s gratifying to see the final stages met with support from local, national and international organizations such as Mr. Woods’.”
Woods said in the release that he’s been watching Harbourside Place’s development since it broke ground more than two years ago.
“I look forward to enjoying my restaurant as much as I hope the public will,” Woods said in the release. “I envision a place where people can meet friends, watch sports on TV and enjoy a great meal.”
The restaurant is still in the planning stages but the release said the “original concept encompasses 5,900 square feet with outdoor seating.”
“I wanted to build it locally where I live and where it could help support the community,” Woods said in the release.
