Miami well-represented among the fashionable New York runways

We had local representation at Custo Barcelona’s spring/summer show at Lincoln Center Sunday afternoon: Adriana De Moura right smack in the front row.

The former Real Housewives of Miami cast member, wearing a colorfully printed maxidress, said she came to New York Fashion Week to mix, mingle and talk about a new collaboration. And it has nothing to do with Bravo television.

The Brazilian beauty is the new face of L’Alpina alkaline water, which she said is better for you than, say, regular old bottled water because it’s packaged in glass, not chemical-leaching plastic.

Traveling solo, she was happy to take in some fashion, too. Of the Custo show — full of cutouts, geometric patterns and lots of shimmer — she said: “I loved it! I can’t wait to rock it!”

Seated next to De Moura was Academy Award- nominated actress Sally Kirkland ( Anna) who was all smiles. “I really enjoy all of this,” Kirkland said, ogling the taut, toned models slinking down the runway. Must be in the genes: The actress was named after her mother, a onetime editor at Vogue.

A few seats away: The Face personality Nigel Barker, wearing a smart suit and trying to explain haute couture to his fidgety tween son.

Also bringing his son along for the glamorous ride: Miami soccer stadium pioneer (wannabe) David Beckham. On-the-rise model Brooklyn Beckham watched intently as his mum, Victoria Beckham, sent out catwalkers in safari chic designs in a space in Lower Manhattan.

Another local spotted out and about: Italian developer Ugo Colombo, principal at CMC Group. He talked to about his latest project, luxury condo Brickell Flatiron at 1001 South Miami Ave. Of working with artist Julian Schnabel: “He picked out the colors, the fabrics, the materials and the final look of the common spaces, as well as creating some custom furniture pieces,” Colombo said of his longtime friend.

Joan Rivers’ presence was felt at Monday’s Dennis Basso show. The designer, who was responsible for not one but two of Gabrielle Union’s custom wedding gowns, held a moment of silence for the late comedian, who showed up on many red carpets wearing his luxurious furs.

While most fashionistas are scurrying back and forth between the so-called tents set up at Lincoln Center on the Upper West Side and more Spartan spaces in Chelsea, the main event is set to take place Tuesday night in another borough.

The Fashion Rocks at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn will feature sets by such power performers as Usher, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Duran Duran, Miranda Lambert and Rita Ora. It airs at 9 p.m. on CBS and livestreams at

Ryan Seacrest will take care of the hosting duties for the two-hour special, which celebrates the symbiotic relationship of music and fashion.

We can’t wait to see the outfits.
