Brittany Murphy’s father slams biopic; Joan Rivers moved to private room; Kaley Cuoco’s marriage may be on the rocks

One person who won’t be tuning in Saturday to the Lifetime biopic The Brittany Murphy Story is the late actress’ father. Angelo Bertolotti has been tweeting his displeasure with the movie and its star, Amanda Fuller. She plays the Clueless cutie who died in 2009 at age 32. “My daughter #brittanymurphy would be horrified to know who they chose to play her and how cheap it all is,” he posted about the film, which depicts Murphy as an unstable pill-popper. “#Unauthorized.” In a statement, Bertolotti calls the project “trashy” and “completely untrue.”

Murphy’s cause of death was determined to be accidental: She had pneumonia combined with anemia and “multiple drug intoxication” from several prescription and over-the-counter medications.

Rocky start

Trouble already? Just eight months after tying the knot, Kaley Cuoco and tennis pro husband Ryan Sweeting may be regretting their quickie marriage. A source close to the couple say they are fighting constantly. Eyewitnesses detail an argument the two got into on Emmy night at an HBO after-party. “They were very angry — going back and forth at each other,” recalls a fellow party-goer.

In other (non) marital news, Gael García Bernal and Dolores Fonzi are splitting after nearly five years of marriage, reports E! News. They have two kids.

Still fighting

Joan Rivers has been moved from the intensive care unit of a hospital to a private room “where she is being kept comfortable,” her daughter Melissa said Wednesday. Rivers stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest while undergoing a throat procedure last week and was placed in a medically induced coma and remains on life support. A source tells Entertainment Tonight: “Preliminary tests appear to rule out brain dead. There seems to be some function.”

Remembering Robin

Book publisher Henry Holt and Co. has acquired the rights to a biography of the late Robin Williams, to be written by New York Times culture reporter Dave Itzkoff. It will recount Williams’ “journey from lonesome youth to indefatigable comedian, and from television sensation to beloved, Academy Award-winning star,” read a statement.

Look at me

While other celebs are upset by their nude photos being hacked, Kim Kardashian is embracing her birthday suit. The reality star actually may have topped herself this time: Kim fronts British GQ’s latest issue in the buff. Inside the magazine, which named her Woman of the Year, is a spread with more skin. At the Tuesday night ceremony in London to pick up her honor, KK was back to her old-style tricks: leather and cleavage. Sigh.
