Mariah Carey says “hello” to Lionel Richie’s myriad fans as the two pop titans team for a concert tour that will bring them to Sunrise’s BB&T Center, 1 Panther Pkwy., on May 27. The South Florida show is the closing date of the duo’s 35-city tour, which opens March 15 in Baltimore, Maryland.
Bet the pair team to sing Richie’s “Endless Love.” The ballad was a No. 1 hit duet for Richie and Diana Ross in 1981, and in 1994 Carey and the late Luther Vandross paired for a cover that climbed to No. 2.
Pre-sale tickets, at $39.95-$299.95, for Richie’s All the Hits Tour, with Carey as his special guest, go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, for AT&T Thanks program members and 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, for Citi cardholders. General public ticket sales begin at 10 a.m. Saturday. Visit LiveNation.com and Ticketmaster.com.
So why is the newly single “Mariah’s World” star opening for Lionel? The debate can rage all night long.
