What comes after “The Girl on the Train”? The girl (and her mother) under the water.
Riverhead Books reported that it will publish British author’s Paula Hawkins’ second suspense novel on May 2. “Into the Water,” about a mother and teenage daughter who are found dead in a river just weeks apart, comes two years after the publication of “The Girl On The Train.”
“This story has been brewing for a good while,” Hawkins said in a statement, according to the Associated Press. “For me there is something irresistible about the stories we tell ourselves, the way voices and truths can be hidden consciously or unconsciously, memories can be washed away and whole histories submerged.”
