Gwyneth to host Obama fundraiser

Gwyneth Paltrow will host President Barack Obama for a fundraising event next month, People reports.

The fundraiser, which was planned by the Democratic National Committee, will be held at the Oscar winner's L.A. home on Oct. 9.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there will be a reception followed by a dinner where Obama will answer questions from guests — who are each paying $1,000 to $32,400 to attend the event.

REMEMBERING AMY

Late singer Amy Winehouse has been honored on what would have been her 31st birthday with a life-sized statue in her beloved Camden Town neighborhood of north London.

Winehouse's many fans will have no problem recognizing the singer, who is portrayed sporting her distinctive beehive hairdo.

Winehouse's father Mitch said Sunday it was "incredibly emotional" to see the statue.

"It is like stopping her in a beautiful moment in time," he said.

LC TIES THE KNOT

Former Hills star Lauren Conrad and musician William Tell have tied the knot, her rep confirmed to Us Weekly. The pair said "I do" in an intimate ceremony in front of close friends and family along the coast of California on Saturday.
