Kristen Bell has a personal connection to Hurricane Irma.
In September, the “Frozen” star tweeted that she was stuck in Florida right as the massive storm was moving in, but would be evacuating.
While in the Sunshine State shooting a movie before Irma hit, the actress apparently made some friends who were on the older side.
While staying at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Bell met up with more than 600 residents from Atria Senior Living who were evacuated to the property’s Swan and Dolphin resorts.
The “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star hunkered down with the 65-and-over crowd. They apparently all got along swimmingly.
On Sunday night, Bell, who was hosting the 2018 Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG), got a virtual surprise from E! News before the ceremony. A few of the old timers whom she had touched (and vice versa) sent her a virtual embrace for #NationalHuggingDay.
“It’s a cheap shot because I’m already crying,” says Bell, while looking at her laptop.
In the video, residents send her their best wishes. Some even appear with Anna dolls, toys modeled after the character she played in the classic 2013 children’s movie.
Bell was almost speechless after the video — complete with inspirational background music — ended.
“Oh guys, that was, oh wow,” she said, choking back tears. “To everyone at Atria. I love you right back.”
