Uber launches new initiatives that include boat rides and car seats
Uber is taking their services to sea and bringing baby seats along for the ride.
The rideshare app announced exciting new partnerships and services at its third annual Go-GET product event in New York City. Thrillist reports that Uber will be offering private boat chartering services this summer in Mykonos, Greece. Like the traditional car service, users can request a boat through the Uber app on their mobile devices.
The company launched Uber Boat in 2020, offering services in London in partnership with Thames Clippers. The 2023 rendition of the service in Greece will be offered with private charters. As TechCrunch reports, the boats can transport up to eight passengers to popular destinations around Mykonos. Riders will select spots around the island, and the price will be based on the number of stops on a specific trip, among other factors.
Uber also unveiled Uber Car Seat in partnership with Nuna Baby, the leader in premier baby gear. According to Travel Pulse, the program will launch pilots in New York City and Los Angeles, with plans to expand to other cities soon.
Uber Car Seat will be available through the Uber app as well. Parents can reserve a ride and choose to include a Nuna RAVA car seat eliminating the need to bring their personal car seat. The outlet added the RAVA could “accommodate children weighing from 5 to 65 pounds, with an average age range of birth to 6 years old.”
During the event, Austin Hodges, Global Chief Marketing Officer for Nuna Baby, said, “I have seen the countless roles that moms take on daily. They are modern-day superheroes with more responsibility than one should be able to handle. At Nuna, we recognize this and strive to create products that can provide moms, parents, and caregivers the flexibility they need to live freely and give them one less thing to worry about.”
