Point vs period made it much easier to understand them simply.<\/p> <h3 id=\"h-practice-exercises-and-interactive-activities\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Practice Exercises and Interactive Activities<\/strong><\/h3> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To break up the video lessons and reinforce actual understanding of the topics discussed, CFI dropped the occasional practice exercise or interactive activity. The practice exercises took place in, fittingly, Microsoft Excel sheets automated to determine whether or not you\u2019d entered the correct information with a checkbox.<\/p> <figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"676\" src=\"https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/careers-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/CFI-Excel-Practice-Exercise.png\" alt=\"CFI automated Excel practice exercise for journal entries with answer check boxes\" class=\"wp-image-24632\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/careers-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/CFI-Excel-Practice-Exercise.png 1600w, https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/careers-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/CFI-Excel-Practice-Exercise-300x127.png 300w, https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/careers-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/CFI-Excel-Practice-Exercise-1024x433.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/careers-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/CFI-Excel-Practice-Exercise-768x324.png 768w, https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/careers-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/CFI-Excel-Practice-Exercise-150x63.png 150w, https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/careers-education\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/04\/CFI-Excel-Practice-Exercise-1536x649.png 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">I could see that, for question one, I\u2019d entered the last line correctly, but needed revisions on the other three.<\/figcaption><\/figure> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It made learning feel a lot more interesting, since it was a little like having a puzzle to solve based on the information and what I\u2019d just learned from the lectures.<\/p> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, the interactive activities could be something like a drag-and-drop, or just some multiple-choice questions with quick answer explanations.<\/p> <h2 id=\"h-earning-certificates\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Earning Certificates<\/strong><\/h2> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To earn my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/careers-education\/fmva-vs-cfa\/\">FMVA certification<\/a>, I had to start by passing 15 core courses, 3 elective courses, and a final exam.<\/p> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But individual courses had requirements, too. I had to pass a final exam for each course, and this got a little frustrating. For the Accounting Fundamentals exam, there were only 9 questions, but I needed a passing score of 80%. So, I could only get 1 question wrong and still pass. I didn\u2019t need to unlock the exam by going through any of the course, so I could access it whenever I felt ready.
