Overall, credit card debt has been on the increase, too. Debt balances among the top 25 cities vary greatly, with those who live in Miami Beach carrying almost double the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.experian.com\/blogs\/ask-experian\/consumer-credit-review\/?pc=ref_exp_www.miamiherald.com&amp;cc=bnksdr_2402\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">average credit card balance<\/a> ($10,269) as those who live in Lauderhill ($5,860). Almost every city in this ranking\u201421 out of the top 25\u2014carries more credit card <a href=\"https:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/banks\/debt\/how-does-miamis-debt-compare-to-the-rest-of-the-nation\/\">debt<\/a> on average than the U.S. average. <\/p> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Growth in credit card balances in the Greater Miami area is roughly keeping pace with national trends, meaning these balances aren\u2019t growing unusually fast compared with the rest of the nation. In Florida and beyond, balances have been affected by still-elevated inflation and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.experian.com\/blogs\/ask-experian\/what-can-increase-credit-card-apr\/?pc=ref_exp_www.miamiherald.com&amp;cc=bnksdr_2402\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">rising credit card interest rates<\/a>.
