This month, the Neuman brothers interview Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade.
Q: What was your biggest fear as a kid?
A: Not getting out of the hood. Not having an opportunity to get out. That was my biggest fear that nobody was going to give me an opportunity.
Q: When you drive to the basket and you're twisting and turning in the air, are you focusing on the shot or are you just being natural when you shoot?
A: It's natural at first, and as you twist and turn, then you focus on the shot. But a lot of it is natural instincts and your natural ability.
Q: When you were a kid, did you have a crush on anyone?
A: Yes. I had a crush on my teachers.
Q: Tell us something your mother always told you as a kid.
A: My mother always told me that she was my favorite girl. She was my only girl.
Q: Compare winning your Olympic gold medal to your NBA championship.
A: If I had to put both of them on the scale, they would both weigh out about the same. I thought that both were very important in my life, so they both hold a special place in my heart.
Q: Can you tell us something about yourself that people would be surprised to know?
A: I'm funny. I like to crack jokes. I love to laugh. I love to make people laugh, so I'm always trying to crack jokes.
Q: What's the funniest or strangest thing that's ever happened to you on the court?
A: I fall a lot and that's embarrassing, but I don't care.
Q: What was your most meaningful moment as a kid?
A: When I moved from my mother to my father. My mother and father were divorced when I was born. So I think once I moved in with my father that really put me into a state of mind and a belief that I could really do something in my life.
Q: What was your most embarrassing moment as a kid?
A: Getting a butt whooping outside in front of your friends is very embarrassing. I got slapped in the head a couple of times for not doing what I was supposed to in front of my friends.
Q: When you were a kid, what was very inspiring to you?
A: My sister was very inspiring to me because I saw how hard she worked. I saw it was not easy for an African-American woman at the time, and she really worked hard to become better and to do good things for me and others.
Q: What's the first thing you bought when getting your first big paycheck?
A: A Cadillac Escalade truck.Q: What do you think about President Barack Obama?
A: I think that President Barack Obama is an inspiration to us all. I believe in him, and I think that's the most important thing. When he talks, you believe in him. You want to listen to him talk and you want him to talk more. I look forward to the future to see what he can bring to this great country we live in.
Q: Do you have any tips for President Obama on his basketball game?
A: I heard he's not bad. I haven't seen him play in person or played against him to really give him tips but I heard he's got a smooth little jump shot.
