Robinson, Serret highlight playoff opener for Florida Bible

Adrienne Robinson and Celine Serret helped lead the Florida Bible School girls' varsity volleyball team over Hollywood Christian 27-25, 17-25, 25-13, 23-25, 15-13 in the District 14-1A quarterfinal at Highlands Christian School in Deerfield Beach.

In the deciding game, Serret, a junior, had seven aces and a kill. Courtney Lewis, a junior, had four service points with an ace. Selena Van Doren, another junior, had two kills, and Robinson had the match clinching kill with Lewis recording the service point.

Senior Talena Castillo single-handedly kept the Eagles in the final game. She had seven service points (two aces) and a kill. Junior Kaley Howard, the best hitter on the court, added two kills off tips, and freshman Olivia Gonzalez had two service points.

Tied at one game, Serret caught fire at the service line, recording six service points with four aces and two kills. Robinson, a junior, added six service points (ace) and four kills (tip). Freshman Allison Medina had six service points. Van Doren had a kill, and Hannah Ynacay, who played well, had a kill on a tip. Howard had three kills (tip) and an ace, and Gonzalez had four service points (ace) for the Eagles.

In the fourth game, Howard had eight kills (three tips, block). Castillo added four service points (ace) and two kills. Krista Berenguer, an eighth grader, and senior Dimple Reid each had four service points (two aces). Gonzalez had two service points and the game winner on a well placed ball.

Tied at 25, Medina's well placed ball and Robinson's block gave the Warriors the first game. In game two, Berenguer had six service points (five aces), and Castillo had five service points (three aces). Howard had three kills (one tip). Reid added an ace.
