Plantation Wildcats trounce Weston Warriors 44-0

The Plantation Wildcats 135s improved to 8-2 with a 44-0 victory over the Weston Warriors in the American Youth Football League.

The defense allowed 15 yards rushing and 20 yards passing. Tyler Holloway returned an interception 47 yards. Trevon Lee had an interception, and Gary Bright recovered a fumble.

Offensively, Zay Kennedy had seven carries for 167 yards with touchdown runs of 62, 52 and 44 yards. Tavarus McFadden ran five times for 46 yards with a 13-yard touchdown run.

Darrien McIntyre scored on a 2-yard run. Andrew Leacock gained two yards. Andrew DiRocco and McFadden each caught an 18-yard pass.

DiRocco kicked four 2-point conversions, and Lee returned a punt 36 yards for a touchdown. Holloway, Kennedy and Lee each received a game ball.

COOPER CITY

The Cooper City Optimist Cowboys Pee Wees defeated the Fort Lauderdale Jaguars 41-0 in the American Youth Football League.

Jesse Rivera had two touchdowns (55 and 25 yards). Tavarius Robinson scored on a 60-yard run. Gabriel Delacadena had a 25-yard touchdown run and an extra point run. Michael Hebding and Jack O'Malley had a 10-yard touchdown run.

Bryce Weinsier, Alec Scott and Nicolas C. Marino had extra point runs. Robinson and Rivera excelled as running backs, and quarterback Bryce Weinsier played well. Jordan Aronson and Nicholas J. Marino did a good job at center.

Conner Solomone and Ryan Garcia each had two sacks. Gabriel Delacadena excelled at safety. Ray Batten made two tackles for losses. Game MVPs were Weinsier (offense); Batten (defense); Marino (special teams).

100: COOPER CITY 13, FORT LAUDERDALE 12 (OT): Trevor Reto's interception in overtime sealed the win.

Tied at six in overtime, Zachary Bernstein scored, and Joseph Ruma added the winning extra point run. Trailing 13-6, the Jaguars scored, but Reto then intercepted the conversion to end the game.

Bernstein was 5 of 6 passing for 43 yards. He also scored twice on runs. Ruma had 69 yards rushing, caused a fumble and recovered a fumble.

Darrell Wise made three interceptions and two tackles. Bryan Smith had two tackles and a fumble recovery. Reto had a tackle and an interception. Hard-working performer Jonathan Miller recorded four tackles, and Troy Ingle had three tackles.

135: COOPER CITY 36, FORT LAUDERDALE 0: Zach Tasse had 75 yards rushing and scored twice (21 and seven yards). Zach Haber added a touchdown, and Tyson Burch ran for 60 yards and scored. Javon Lawton also had a touchdown.

Chris Taylor caught a pass covering 25 yards and blocked well. Ryan Sammuels, Jarrett Morgan, Ephi Levy, Mitch Marrero, Johnathon Leouge, Austin Root and Richard Levelle were outstanding blocking. Nick Jeanty was 4 of 7 passing and had 10 yards rushing.

Simon Bernard, Lukas Volpe and Emmauel Soto each had several pass breakups to maintain the shutout. Mason Courson and Kristian Gonzalez were strong inside at linebacker, and James Elios, Anthony Flory, Eric Brown, Ryan Sammuels and Ephi Levy each had several solo tackles in controlling the line of scrimmage. Samuels also added a sack.

COCONUT CREEK

Barry Robinson kicked the winning 2-pointer as the Coconut Creek Eagles 100s edged the Boca Raton Jets 8-6 in the American Youth Football League.
