Spartans gain key district win with Adeba, Shoaff

Bola Adeba provided the consistency needed to help give the Hollywood Hills High School girls' varsity volleyball team a key district win over host South Broward on Tuesday in Hollywood.
Adeba, a junior, had eight kills (one block), 15 service points and two aces as the Spartans improved to 11-7, 6-0 in the district. South Broward is 6-6, 4-2 district.
Standout setter Beth Shoaff, a freshman, had 25 assists, 10 service points with three aces and four kills (one tip). Senior Taylor Miller took advantage of several quick sets with 21 kills (three blocks) 14 digs and five service points (two aces).
Amanda Wright -- who totaled eight kills, 10 service points, five aces -- had five kills in game four including the match clincher. Adeba had 10 service points and Miller seven kills in game four.
In the opener, Adeba had four kills and Miller three kills. Ayalivis DeLaRosa had three service points with an ace. Wright totaled six service points with an ace to seal the win in the first game. In game two, Miller recorded seven kills. Jessica Sotelo had three service points.
In game three, South Broward's Ashley Shommers had eight service points with two aces and two kills. Jessica Cleveland added five service points with three aces and a kill. Kasey Keane had three kills.
