West Miramar Panthers defeat Pompano Tigers
The West Miramar Panthers 90s shut out the Pompano Tigers 24-0 in the South Florida Youth Football League.
Dylan Litsinberger had a 60-yard touchdown run and six tackles. Patrick Surtain II scored on a 65-yard run. Kai Campbell added a 38-yard touchdown run. Addison Alufohai kicked three two-pointers.
Donald Knowles, Semaj Davis, Marc Christie and Malik Mayo were outstanding on a defense that allowed just one first down. Dezarian Hernandez, Kobie Simmons, Jalen Rumph and Brandon Bell played well on offense, and Victor Faillace did a good job on special teams.

HALLANDALE
Senior twins Alia and Delcia Johnson are two-year starters on Hallandale High School girls' varsity volleyball team. They debuted in the sport their freshman seasons on the junior varsity squad.
Delcia's teacher, Mrs. Bifod, at McNicol Middle School, coached volleyball at Hallandale. She encouraged the Johnson twins to try out for volleyball their freshman year at Hallandale. They did not play middle school volleyball.
They played their first two years on the junior varsity team. They are now coached by Adam Lawrence.
A second-year coach, he played primarily front row on the boys' varsity volleyball at Athol High School in Athol, Mass. They reached the sectional finals in 2002.
Hallandale d. Dillard 25-18, 25-17, 25-22: Maria Alvarez 6 points, 1 ace; Evelyn Espinal 11 points, 2 aces, 2 assists; Angie Feeney 2 kills, 4 points; Alia Johnson 5 points; Delcia Johnson 1 kill, 8 points; Evenie Sam 1 point.
Miramar d. Hallandale 25-11, 25-23, 27-29, 25-10: The Chargers showed a lot of heart by winning game three, after dropping the first two. Miramar overcame a four-point deficit to take the lead in the third game, but Hallandale prevented two match points en route to the game three victory.
Delcia Johnson had 10 points with eight aces and a kill in game three.
Alvarez, Espinal, Feeney and Sam each had a kill. Espinal also had three points, and Sam had an ace. Miramar's Alessandra Cabrera had three kills and an ace in game three.
Ahead 24-23, Miramar's Chelsea Walsh served an ace to seal the win in game two. Walsh had 13 points (10 consecutive) with six aces to lead the opening game win. Breanna Chevolleau had six kills, two blocks, six points and four aces in game two. Espinal recorded nine points, four aces and a kill for the Chargers.
Ashley Jocelyn had four kills in the fourth game for Miramar. Christina Benedict had eight points, two aces and a kill. Cabrera had three aces and two kills. Chevolleau had four points, two aces and two kills. Walsh added three points and two aces, and Kim Jampasar had an ace.
