Weston Warriors' Mason Price ramps up football skills

Mason Price, 8, is doing well in his second season of American Youth Football League play.

After debuting with the Davie Broncos last season, he is making the most of his second season -- a year older and a year bigger -- competing for the Weston Warriors Pee Wees.

Price plays offense, defense and special teams. In three games, he ran 18 times for 203 yards (11.2 average) with four touchdowns and no fumbles. He caught a 4-yard pass. He made 18 tackles (five solo, 13 assisted) with a sack.

To prepare for this season, Price practiced every day with his dad, throwing and catching the football in the backyard. He also watched plenty of reruns of NFL games on the NFL Network.

Price lives, eats, breathes and sleeps football. He hopes to follow in his brother's footsteps. O.J. Price played collegiately for Concordia and Florida International universities.

Price attends Flamingo Elementary School in Davie. His favorite NFL team is the Miami Dolphins and he enjoys going to Dolphins games. His favorite college team is the University of Miami Hurricanes.
