Schimmel, Toliver named WNBA Players of Week

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Shoni Schimmel of the Atlanta Dream and Kristi Toliver of the Los Angeles Sparks were named the WNBA Players of the Week on Monday.

Schimmel led the Eastern Conference in assists, averaging 4.7 per game, and ranked second in scoring with 15.3 points ppg. The rookie scored a career-high 24 points in a 92-76 win over the Tulsa Shock on her way to her first career weekly honor.

Toliver averaged 18.7 points and 4.0 assists to help the Sparks to a 2-1 record for the week. Her 29 points, five assists and three rebounds in a 71-63 win over the Minnesota Lynx helped Los Angeles clinch a playoff berth.
