Former world No. 1 superstar Rafael Nadal will play for his beloved Spain in next month's Davis Cup final against the visiting Czech Republic.

The reigning champion Spaniards are seeking their fourth title this decade.

Nadal missed last year's final in Argentina due to a knee injury, as Spain went on the road to defeat the favored Argentines, 3-1. The Mallorca native has battled knee and abdominal injuries this year, with knee problems preventing him from defending his title at Wimbledon this past summer.

The 23-year-old Nadal is 12-1 in his career Davis Cup singles rubbers, with his only loss coming against the Czechs, in his Davis Cup debut, back in 2004.

Spanish captain Albert Costa should have the Australian Open champion Nadal, Fernando Verdasco, David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez at his disposal for the December 4-6 best-of-five tie.

Spain and the Czech Republic will square off on indoor clay at Barcelona's Palau Sant Jordi.
