New Haven, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Second-seeded Petra Kvitova secured a spot in Saturday's final at the Connecticut Open tennis event, a final tune-up for the U.S. Open, after easily taking down Samantha Stosur on Friday.

Kvitova cruised past Stosur 6-3, 6-1 to reach the final at New Haven for the third straight year. Kvitova was the 2012 New Haven titlist and last year's runner-up to Simona Halep, this week's top seed who lost to unseeded Slovak Magdalena Rybarikova on Tuesday.

Rybarikova kept her run alive earlier in the day, beating Italian Camila Giorgi 6-2, 6-4 on the hardcourts at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale.

The 25-year-old Rybarikova will appear in her sixth career final, seeking a fifth title. This will mark her first final of 2014.

Saturday's champion will collect $120,000.
