Bogota, Colombia (SportsNetwork.com) - No. 3 seed Vasek Pospisil beat Alex Kuznetsov in straight sets Wednesday in the second round of the Claro Open Colombia

Pospisil, who won the men's doubles title at Wimbledon two weeks ago with American Jack Sock, held on for a 7-5, 7-5 win over Kuznetsov.

No. 4 seed Radek Stepanek, the oldest player in the draw at 35, topped Guido Pella 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 in a match that was delayed for a while because of rain with Stepanek serving and sitting on match point.

Bernard Tomic upset No. 5 seed Alejandro Falla 6-1, 7-6 (7-2), and sixth- seeded Alejandro Gonzalez of Colombia beat Thiemo de Bakker 6-3, 6-4.

In first-round action on Wednesday, No. 7 seed Matthew Ebden was trailing 4-6, 0-3 when he retired from his match against James Ward, and No. 8 seed Victor Estrella Burgos battled to a 7-5, 6-3 win over Juan Ignacio Londero.

Peter Polansky and Jimmy Wang were also first-round winners Wednesday.

The 28-man field is topped by world No. 14 Richard Gasquet and No. 2 seed Ivo Karlovic, the defending champion. Both are in action Thursday.
