Knapp, Cetkovska advance in Bucharest

Bucharest, Romania (SportsNetwork.com) - Seeded women Karin Knapp and Petra Cetkovska were among Tuesday's first-round winners at the inaugural Bucharest Open tennis tournament.
The fourth-seeded Italian Knapp rolled past Romanian Raluca Olaru 6-1, 6-3, while the seventh-seeded Czech Cetkovska leveled Romania's Alexandra Cadantu 6-3, 6-2 on the red clay at Arenele BNR.
Other first-round wins came for Spaniard Silvia Soler-Espinosa, Bulgarian Elitsa Kostova, Montenegro's Danka Kovinic, and Serb Aleksandra Krunic.
On Wednesday, top-seeded Romanian star Simona Halep will open her week against France's Kristina Mladenovic. Halep was the French Open runner-up last month and reached a French Open semifinal last week.
The maiden Bucharest champion will pocket $43,000.
