Captain Bouncer Smith of Bouncers Dusky out of Miami Beach Marina reported excellent catch-and-release snook fishing in Government Cut, with some in the 25-pound range. And offshore of Government Cut, his anglers are catching kingfish and bonitos on live threadfin herring and pilchards.

MIAMI-DADE/BROWARD

Isabella Rowe, 4, fishing with her father, Tom, caught her first dolphin off of Fort Lauderdale on a whole Spanish sardine. . . . Captain Carl Ball of Awol Fishing Charters out of Fort Lauderdale has led recent clients to a Flats Grand Slam with catches of bonefish, large permit and small tarpon in South Biscayne Bay flats. . . . Captain Rick Brady of Marlin My Darlin Fishing Charters out of Fort Lauderdale reported steady kingfish action with most fish in the 6- to 10-pound range, along with a lot of bonitos, an occasional sailfish and dolphins.

KEYS

Captain Bill Hauck on the party boat Sea King out of Marathon reported good nighttime fishing, with limit catches of mangrove and yellowtail snappers. . . . Captain Lain Goodwin of Dirty Water Charters out of Key Largo reported plenty of tailing redfish and snook on the flats of Florida Bay in areas where schools of mullet have been holding. . . . During the 8th Annual ``RedGhost Stalk'' Tournament, 38 anglers on 34 boats caught and released 19 bonefish and 72 redfish. In the Junior Division, 16-year-old Will Sabayrac from Palm Beach Gardens took Grand Champion honors with a catch of three redfish and two bonefish. Sabayrac was guided by captain Robert Collins of Islamorada. The Young Adult Grand Champion and Fly Division Champion went to Key Largo's Jared Raskob, who was with captain Mark Cockerham of Islamorada. Raskob caught and released five redfish and six bonefish, all on fly.

TREASURE COAST

Rick Feiertag of Fort Pierce fished off of South Hutchinson Island using threadfin herring and crabs, and caught cobia, released two snook to 18 pounds, large jacks, bonitos, a spinner shark and a large permit. Feiertag fished with captain Steve Amarant of Davie. . . . Captain Tom Van Horn of Mosquito Coast Fishing Charters reports plenty of spawning snook in the Sebastian Inlet and small Spanish mackerel and bonitos just outside the inlets and offshore in the areas of the 8A Reef.

FLORIDA BAY

Fishing in Flamingo with captain Alan Sherman of Get Em Sportfishing Charters, Paul Moseim, his brother, Bob, and Ethan Amstell, all from the Miami, teamed up to catch and release 10 snook, six redfish to 27 ½ inches and a 10-pound tripletail on Rapala X Raps and Hook Up lures tipped with a Gulp shrimp. . . . Captain Pete Silot of Saltwater Junkie Charters reported limit catches of mangrove snappers in the Oxfoot Bank area.

SOUTHWEST COAST

Captain Herb Kehoe of Finesse Charters out of Fort Myers reported that when the water is below 90 degrees, a lot of large snook and keeper-sized redfish can be found on the outside bars on the incoming tides. Large trout have been feeding in the same areas.

FRESHWATER

Captain Alan Zaremba reported hot action on peacock bass to 4 ½ pounds fishing the C-4, C-8 and C-100 canals using live shiners, Pro Traps and jungle jigs. . . . Howard Kleeman out of Slim's Fishing Camp in Belle Glade reported good largemouth bass fishing along the outside grass edges in Pelican Bay, Kramer Island and at the tip of Ritta Island.
