Manny Navarro started for The Herald as an editorial assistant as a senior in high school at G. Holmes Braddock High in 1996. He studied journalism at Florida International University and eventually served as the high school sports beat writer in Miami-Dade County from 2002-2006 before covering University of Miami athletics and the Miami Marlins from 2007 until 2015.
