The Houston Dynamo earned a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders FC to take the Western Conference Semifinal Series between the two Major League Soccer teams by the same score on Sunday afternoon at Robertson Stadium.
Brian Ching scored the home-and-home, total goals series' only goal in the first of two 15 minute extra-time periods after the team's battled to a scoreless draw after two games.
Ching's winner came after a Brian Mullen cross from the right side went over the head of Luis Angel Landin in the penalty area. Ching then ran onto the ball and overpowered a defender for possession before slotting it past Seattle goalkeeper Kasey Keller.
Houston, will take on the winner of the Los Angeles/Chivas USA match later on Sunday in it's third Western Conference Final in the past four years.
The Eastern Final will feature Chicago hosting Real Salt Lake.
