Captain Dave Kostyo of Knot Nancy Fishing Charters out of TNT Marina in Keystone reported mullet were migrating through Haulover Inlet and large tarpon were exploding on the helpless mullet, and along the beaches there was sporadic action on Spanish mackerel, offshore a few kingfish on the reef and dolphins migrating south on the edge. . . . Captain Ryan McBride of Conched Out Fishing Charters out of Fort Lauderdale says sailfish have been his main target from Palm Beach south to Fort Lauderdale. McBride reported the sailfish have been chasing ballyhoo schools and small bonitos and tunas, and his clients have averaged three to six bites from sailfish per four-hour charter.
MIAMI-DADE/BROWARD
Captain Quinton Dieterle from the charter boat Cutting Edge out of Key Biscayne reported a few sailfish and dolphins offshore and a showing of Spanish mackerel along the beaches and into South Biscayne Bay. . . . Jerome Chaves of Miami fished with captain Alan Sherman of ``Get Em'' Sportfishing Charters and released two out of five tarpon plus sea trout, bull sharks and eight of 13 snook in North Biscayne Bay, and then landed seven dolphins up to 15 pounds and released two sailfish all on live pilchards off shore of Haulover Inlet.
KEYS
Captain Bob Brown of Sundance Sportfishing Adventures out of Marathon reported sailfish have been chasing ballyhoo schools off of Marathon. Dolphins in the five- to 15-pound range are being caught under floating debris in 300 feet of water along with a few wahoo and blackfin tuna. . . . Captain Izzy Donatiello of Reelstyle charters out of Islamorada reported that blackfin tuna have been the most consistent offshore fish in his area along with a few dolphins, kingfish and sailfish.
TREASURE COAST
Rick Feiertag of North Hutchinson Island fished with captain Steve Amarant of Davie in the Fort Pierce Inlet and near shore with live pinfish and shrimp and caught two cobia, one snook, jack crevalles and a shark on 12-pound line.FLORIDA BAY
Captain Benny Blanco of Flamingo Fishing Charters reported finding plenty of small tarpon, snook and redfish on the shallow flats of Florida Bay. His clients have scored many Backcountry and Grand Slams casting soft plastic baitfish imitations and Rapala Skitter Walks.
SOUTHWEST COAST
Captain Herb Kehoe of Finesse Charters out of Chokoloskee reports that snook and redfish are still on the outside islands as well as in the river mouths and offshore structures and cobia are starting to show on the offshore structures.
FRESHWATER
Wayne Corbin out of Slim's Fishing Camp in Belle Glade reported great largemouth bass fishing on wild live shiners, Skinny Dippers and Brush Hogs in the Buzzards Roost area and crappie have started biting on live minnows in the Tree Island and Boy Scout Cut areas. . . . Captain Alan Zaremba reported finding a wide assortment of largemouth, peacock bass and Mayan cichlid and jack crevalles in many of the local canals in Miami.
