Henry Caimotto from the Snook Nook in Jensen Beach reported snook fishermen are having a field day off local bridges because of overcast skies. Anything resembling a mullet is getting hit by snook of all sizes. Along the beaches from Fort Pierce south to the St. Lucie Inlet, bluefish, pompano, snook and a few flounder can be caught by casting right from the beach.

MIAMI DADE/

BROWARD

Captain Quinton Dieterle on the charter boat Cutting Edge out of Key Biscayne reported that recent large swells and a north current are moving large pieces of wood and dead trees along the coast, and the debris is attracting dolphins. . . . Captain Dennis Forgione on the charter boat Free Spool out of Haulover Inlet reported good action on kingfish just outside of the outer reef from 80 to 160 feet of water. . . . Captain Bouncer Smith on Bouncers Dusky out of Miami Beach Marina guided Don and Sandra Blake of Miami and caught lots of bluefish and ladyfish in the surf, a snook and tarpon in the inlet and dolphins, blackfin tunas and skip jack tunas offshore.

KEYS

Captain Lain Goodwin of Dirty Water Charters out of Key Largo reported have bonefish, permit and tarpon moving along the Oceanside flats at first light because of cooler temperatures. . . . Alex Bell, Marc Anderson, Jeremy Foell and Jason Bell of Marathon spear fished on the charter boat SeaSquared out of Marathon with captain Chris Johnson. They landed black grouper, gag grouper and hogfish.

TREASURE COAST

Captain Tom Van Horn of Mosquito Coast Fishing Charters reported that the mullet run is in full swing from Ponce De Leon Inlet south to Cocoa Beach. . . . Captain Charlie Conner of Fish Tales Charters out of Port St. Lucie reported good fishing in the Indian River Lagoon.

FLORIDA BAY

Captain John Griffiths out of the Flamingo Marina reported high water has snook and redfish hiding far up into the mangroves, but shallow-drafted skiffs are doing well on snook, redfish and small tarpon. . . . Jerry Miller and Jerry Chaves -- both of Miami -- fished the Gulf shorelines and released a 10 pound redfish, along with smaller reds, snook, sea trout and sharks. Captain Alan Sherman was their guide.

SOUTHWEST COAST

Captain Jeff Legutki of Anglers Addiction Guide Service out of Naples reported cleaner water on the beaches and tannic water in the back country, and that bait is stacking up along the inlets and passes attracting snook, redfish and tarpon. . . . Captain Jim Hobales of Caught Lookin Charters has been fishing the outside waters of Chokoloski and finding good action on redfish and snook.

LAKE OKEECHOBEE

Captain John Miller of Old Florida Bass Guide Service reported up and down largemouth bass fishing along the grass lines inside Lake Okeechobee. . . . Nicole Pharp from Sawgrass Recreation Park reported hot action on peacock bass in both the north and east canal. . . . Captain Alan Zaremba reports good action on Peacock bass in the C-8, C-9 canals and in the Lake Ida region.
