Kaio Almeida of Brazil has broken the world record in the men's 200-meter butterfly at a short-course World Cup meet.

Almeida clocked 1 minute, 49.11 seconds in Tuesday's final at the Stockholm event to beat the time of 1:50.53 set by Nikolay Skvortsov of Russia in February at St. Petersburg.

It was the fourth world record at the meet. Earlier Tuesday, Jing Zhao of China twice set new marks in the women's 50 backstroke. Felicity Galvez of Australia also set a world record in the women's 100 butterfly.
