Give the Miami Dolphins this: they’re exhausting all options in their search for a new general manager.

On Friday, they interviewed Dennis Hickey — the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ director of player personnel and the seventh candidate to sit down with Stephen Ross.

Hickey is intriguing for this reason: The Bucs have a GM opening too. But they haven’t interviewed Hickey for the job, even though he’s worked there the last 18 years.

Tampa Bay went 4-12 last year, but they’re seen as a team that underachieved. There’s a lot of talent on that roster. Presumably, Hickey had something to do with that.

Before taking over his current role, he spent six seasons as the team’s director of college scouting.

Hickey joins Omar Khan (Steelers), Brian Gaine (Dolphins), Jason Licht (Cardinals), Lake Dawson (Titans), Ray Farmer (Browns) and Brian Xanders (Lions) as those who have interviewed for the job.
