The Miami Dolphins brought in Manti Te’o for a pre-draft visit Wednesday – a fascinating, but likely minor development.
Te’o, the Heisman Trophy runner-up, plays linebacker – a position where the Dolphins just invested big money by signing Dannell Ellerbe and Philip Wheeler. Even if it was a need for the team, taking Te’o with their 12th overall pick would be considered by many a stretch.
Te’o led Notre Dame to the national championship game but endured national embarrassment when it was learned the inspirational story about his deceased girlfriend was actually the result of an Internet hoax.
