With only six races remaining on the Nationwide Series schedule, KyleBusch owns a commanding lead over Carl Edwards heading into California. Busch,who leads Edwards by 245 points, has won the last two races at Auto ClubSpeedway. Last season, Busch became the first pole sitter to win this race, ashe defeated Carl Edwards under caution. Busch dominated the race, leading 144of the 150 laps. Earlier this season, Busch again won in Fontana, as he wonthe Stater Bros. 300, just hours after winning the Truck Series race on thesame track. In doing so, Busch became the first driver in NASCAR history towin two national touring races on the same day.Not only has Busch had recent success at Auto Club Speedway, but since 2006,Busch has raced 16 times on the oval, posting four wins and 14 top-10finishes on the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Truck Series circuits.In 2007, Jeff Burton reclaimed the lead on lap 143 of the 150-lap raceand held on to defeat Kyle Busch by 2.859 seconds for his 25th careerNationwide Series title. Burton, who started fifth on the grid, led five timesfor a race-high 52 laps. Denny Hamlin started on the pole and placed third.After posting back-to-back top-five finishes at Fontana, Kahne cruised toa 8.290 seconds win in 2006 over Kevin Harvick for his fifth career NationwideSeries title. Kahne, who started fourth on the grid, led four times for 14laps, including the final three. Pole sitter Clint Bowyer, who led for thefirst nine laps, placed 13th.In 2005, Carl Edwards crossed the finish line 1.710 seconds ahead of GregBiffle for his fourth win of that season and his career. Edwards reclaimed thelead with 31 laps remaining and held on for the victory. Overall, Edwards ledthree times for 52 laps, while Biffle led for 59 laps. Pole sitter ClintBowyer, who led for the first 11 laps, finished third.
