For the second consecutive year, the Dover 200 was captured by adominating driver. This time around it was Kyle Busch, who led for 157 of the207 laps en route to his 19th career Nationwide Series title. Busch, whostarted on the pole, defeated Mike Bliss by 0.866 of a second.Busch, the current points leader has been on top of the standings for the lastfive months and 21 weeks overall. With eight races remaining, Busch owns a201-point lead over Carl Edwards. Despite his yearly success, Busch has failedto capture the checkered flag in eight straight races. In 27 Nationwidestarts, Busch has 23 top-10s and 19 top-five finishes. His winning percentagethe last three years is 26-percent, winning 20 times in 76 starts.In 2007, Denny Hamlin won for the fifth time in his Nationwide Series career.Hamlin, who started fourth on the grid, led five times for a whopping 138laps, as he defeated Martin Truex Jr by just under two seconds. Hamlinreclaimed the advantage from Truex with just 15 laps remaining for a 1.797seconds victory. Pole sitter Greg Biffle finished ninth.Clint Bowyer claimed the lead on lap 179 of the 202-lap race in 2006 and heldon for his third of five career Nationwide Series titles. Bowyer, who started16th on the grid, held off Matt Kenseth by just 0.547 of a second. Pole sitterScott Riggs, who led for the first 40 laps, finished 12th, while Martin TruexJr., who led for a race-high 77 laps, failed to finish and placed 30th.In 2005, Ryan Newman won his fourth consecutive start, as he took thecheckered flag, 1.343 seconds ahead of Clint Bowyer. Newman, who posted hisfifth Nationwide Series title, led for a track record 193 laps and tied theconsecutive win mark set in 1983 by Sam Ard. Newman started on the pole andled for the first 94 laps and then regained the lead on lap 101. Kenny Wallacetook over the top spot on lap 123, but it was short-lived, as Newman was backon top on lap 124 and led the rest of the way. Newman has authored seven winsin this series.The pole sitter has now won this race three times in the history of theSeptember Dover races. Morgan Shepherd captured the inaugural race, RyanNewman won in 2005 and last year by Busch.Harry Gant is the only driver to win this race in back-to-back seasons(1990-91). Gant and Matt Kenseth are the only two-time winners of this race.Todd Bodine is a three-time winner of Nationwide Series races in Dover.The Nationwide Series moves on to Kansas Speedway on October 3rd, as DennyHamlin attempts to defend his title in the Kansas Lottery 300.09/22 21:15:15 ET
