Twins' Plouffe, Santana named AL Co-Players of the Week

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - A pair of Minnesota Twins -- third baseman Trevor Plouffe and center fielder Danny Santana -- were named the American League Co-Players of the Week on Monday.
Plouffe hit .367 with two homers, five doubles, 10 RBI and six runs scored, while the rookie Santana batted .378 with a homer, six RBI and seven runs scored.
Jason Kubel and Delmon Young were the last pair of Minnesota teammates to share the weekly honor (October 4, 2009).
Others considered for the weekly award were Brian Dozier and Oswaldo Arcia from Minnesota, Yankees starter Brandon McCarthy and Tigers hurler Rick Porcello.
