Colon to miss Monday start

Flushing, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon will miss his scheduled start Monday against the Chicago Cubs for personal reasons.

The Mets said he flew home to visit his critically ill mother.

Colon is 11-10 with a 3.85 ERA in 24 starts this season. He leads the Mets in victories and innings pitched with 161 1/3.

Carlos Torres was scheduled to make the start on Monday.
