Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Yu Darvish has been placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Texas Rangers with right elbow inflammation.
Darvish was roughed up by the Astros last Saturday, throwing 113 pitches in four innings and allowing six runs -- five earned -- and nine hits.
Darvish, who finished second in the AL Cy Young voting last season, is 10-7 with a 3.06 ERA and 182 strikeouts this year.
Robbie Ross Jr. is expected to take Darvish's place in the rotation and start Thursday's game against the Rays.
To take Darvish's spot on the roster, the Rangers purchased the contract of left-handed pitcher Alex Claudio from Triple-A Round Rock.
