Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Astros activated center fielder Dexter Fowler from the 15-day disabled list prior to Wednesday's game against Minnesota.

Fowler had been on the DL since late June with an intercostal strain. He was hitting .270 with six homers and 24 RBI over 76 games prior to the injury.

Outfielder Domingo Santana was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City after Tuesday's game to clear room for Fowler on the roster.
