Pirates recall Cumpton

Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled pitcher Brandon Cumpton from Triple-A Indianapolis prior to Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers.

The right-hander has pitched to a 3-3 record with a 4.98 ERA in 10 starts with the Pirates this season. He has allowed 67 hits and 33 runs in 56 innings of work, while striking out 34.

To make room on the roster, the Pirates optioned pitcher Casey Sadler to Indianapolis. Sadler has gone 0-1 with an ERA of 7.71 in five appearances with the Pirates this year.
