Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Mets rookie pitcher Jacob deGrom will miss his next scheduled start due to right shoulder soreness.

DeGrom, who was in Philadelphia with his team as they battle the Phillies, will travel back to New York for further examination.

The Mets haven't announced who will start in deGrom's place on Tuesday when New York hosts the Washington Nationals.

DeGrom is 6-5 with a 2.87 ERA in 16 starts this season. In 100 1/3 innings, the right-hander has struck out 94 and walked just 33.
