Yankees promote Mitchell, DFA Daley

Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Yankees recalled pitcher Bryan Mitchell from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday and designated pitcher Matt Daley for assignment.

Mitchell has yet to pitch in a major league game, but is 3-1 with a 2.88 earned run average and 21 strikeouts in five starts with Scranton/Wilkes- Barre.

Daley has pitched to an 0-1 record in 13 relief appearances with the Yankees, allowing 12 hits and 11 runs over 14 1/3 innings. In his most recent outing on Tuesday, Daley gave up a game-winning home run in top of the 12th inning as the Yankees lost to the Tigers.
