Rangers designate C Gimenez for assignment

Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Texas Rangers designated catcher Chris Gimenez for assignment on Thursday after taking him off the paternity leave list.
On Monday, Gimenez became the first Rangers player in two years to go on the paternity leave list. He remained on the list for the maximum three days.
The 31-year-old catcher batted .262 with a .331 on-base percentage in 33 games for the Rangers this season.
