St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Angels placed left- handed reliever Joe Thatcher on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a sprained ankle.

Thatcher exited Saturday's loss to Tampa Bay after spraining his left ankle fielding a bunt by Brandon Guyer in the fourth inning.

He has a 6.00 ERA in eight appearances for the Angels since he was acquired in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 5.

The Angels recalled right-handed relievers Fernando Salas from Triple-A Salt Lake and Cam Bedrosian from Double-A Arkansas. Bedrosian is the son of 1987 NL Cy Young Award winner Steve Bedrosian.

The Angels optioned left-hander Michael Roth to Arkansas.
