Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Rookie Jacob deGrom threw seven strong innings as the New York Mets topped the Seattle Mariners, 3-1, in the middle test of a three-game series at Safeco Field.

The 26-year-old deGrom (4-5) won his third straight start after limiting the Mariners to a run on five hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.

Jeurys Familia tossed a 1-2-3 eighth and Jenrry Mejia shut the door in the ninth for his 12th save as the Mets snapped a three-game skid and picked up their first-ever win at Seattle. They were swept in three games in their only trip in 2005.

Seattle recalled Erasmo Ramirez (1-5) from Triple-A Tacoma to start and he was the hard-luck loser despite matching a career-high with 10 strikeouts over seven frames. He gave up two runs, both in the second, scattered five hits and walked two.
