Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Seattle Mariners designated catcher John Buck for assignment following Monday's 2-0 win against the Minnesota Twins.

Buck, who was signed to a one-year contract with the team in the offseason, started in 24 of the 27 games he played in this year and had a .226 average to go with a homer and six RBI.

The Mariners announced they would make a corresponding roster move Tuesday.
