Yankees acquire Brandon McCarthy from Diamondbacks

Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired left- handed pitcher Vidal Nuno from the New York Yankees for right-handed pitcher Brandon McCarthy and cash considerations on Sunday.

Nuno went 2-5 with a 5.42 ERA in 17 games (14 starts) for the Yankees this season. The left-hander made his MLB debut last season and in five games (three starts), he was 1-2 with a 2.25 ERA.

McCarthy went 3-10 with a 5.01 ERA in 18 starts for the Diamondbacks this season. He started 40 games over parts of two seasons with the D-backs and went 8-21 with a 4.75 ERA.
